Every day, elected officials make decisions that affect your job, your pay and your retirement security. That is why it is critical that we build up our political network. One of the most effective ways to acquire political strength and influence to make a true difference in politics, is to put our dollars together to elect candidates who will support and promote our legislative agenda.
What is COPE?
The Committee on Political Education (COPE) is a voluntary political action fund that supports NAGE's political and legislative activities.
Member contributions to the COPE Fund are used to support lobbying efforts and help elect local, state, and federal candidates who support the collective bargaining agreements, issues and concerns of NAGE members.
Why should I contribute?
We need to make sure that the pro-NAGE, pro-labor politicians win. In these difficult economic times, where public employees are being increasingly targeted by politicians, it is essential that NAGE work collaboratively with, and endorse officials who will protect our interests in office. Every COPE contribution goes directly to help NAGE promote the rights of our members and protect the jobs and pay and benefits of public employees.
To donate to the NAGE COPE Fund download and complete the COPE Contribution Form and fax it back to Kevin Doyle at (617) 376-7278.
Where trade unions are most firmly organized, there are the rights of the people most respected.
