The National Association of Government Employees (NAGE) welcomes the federal court’s decision to temporarily block the Trump administration’s "deferred resignation" program until oral arguments are heard on Monday afternoon.
This unprecedented program, which seeks to pressure federal employees into resigning with uncertain financial incentives, has been rolled out with limited to no legal authority and ever-changing guidance—making it impossible for NAGE to effectively advise its members.
“As a plaintiff in this case, NAGE is proud to stand up for the rights of our members, who have dedicated their careers to public service,” said David J. Holway, National President. “This pause is critical to ensuring legal review of the program’s legitimacy and its potentially harmful impact on federal employees. NAGE will continue fighting to protect the integrity of federal employment and to ensure government workers receive clear, fair, and lawful treatment.”
