Baker Administration cuts RMV staffing numbers, wait times skyrocket

NAGE urges the Baker Administration to give the RMVs the attention and staffing they need.

Have you noticed longer wait times at the RMV?

Have you been unable to get an appointment?

There’s a reason.

Over the last few years, the Baker Administration and Secretary of Transportation have decreased the number of counter employees at the RMV by at least 154 statewide. Taxpayers are understandably frustrated by the decreased access to RMV services, and employees are unable to keep up with the needs of their customers.

NAGE is calling on Governor Baker and Secretary Tesler to re-commit to providing the best possible services for the Commonwealth. It is time for the Administration to take action.

NAGE Local President John Mann, Local Vice President Paula Moura, and several NAGE representatives have been visiting RMV locations around the Commonwealth, to educate the public on why their wait times have gotten longer.

Union Local Tax Issues

Federal law now requires that every local union file an annual information return—Form 990, 990-EZ, or 990-N—with the IRS.

If your local fails to file under this new requirement, your local will lose its tax-exempt status.
