Senate and House Override Janus Bill Veto

Statement of NAGE National President David J. Holway
Regarding the Senate Override of Governor Bakers Janus Bill Veto.

“Today, I want to thank Senate President Spilka for her leadership in bringing Governor Baker’s veto of the Janus Bill to the floor of the Senate for a successful override vote. Thanks to the strong leadership of the Senate President, Speaker DeLeo and the nearly unanimous bi-partisan support of both branches of the legislature, House Bill 3854 is now law.  Final passage of this important legislation will allow NAGE and the rest of the public sector to move forward and continue to provide a strong voice for the hard-working families that make our Commonwealth run each day.  We are grateful to our allies in the legislature for this important victory, and we look forward to continuing our work with them to ensure high quality public services for all in Massachusetts.”
