New Haven IAEP Funds School Trip to Ground Zero NYC

The members of IAEP Local 999 in New Haven, Connecticut, donated $500 to a local youth group bringing underprivileged students to Ground Zero in New York City this month.
“I am very proud and honored to help these students, as well as very proud to be an IAEP member and local president,” said Mike Montanaro, president of Local 999. The locals representing New Haven’s police officers and firefighters also made donations to the city’s Outbound Exposure Program, a school-based program helping underprivileged students explore areas and experiences beyond their own neighborhoods.
The Local 999 donation will fund a May 17th trip for 24 students and six teachers to visit the national September 11th Memorial and Museum in lower Manhattan. The trip is intended to reinforce classroom lessons on the September 11th attacks and show students the importance of first responders in our society.
Hats off to IAEP Local 999 for their continuing good work in their community!
