National Rep Tom Flynn inducted into Alumni Hall of Fame

Congratulations to NAGE National Representative Thomas Flynn, who was inducted into Cambridge Rindge Technical High School’s Hall of Fame on Monday, November 23, 2015.

Rindge Tech is one of two predecessor schools to what is now Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS). CRLS has quite a few notable alumni, including poet E. E. Cummings, Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio, and actors Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

Each November, the Rindge Tech Alumni Association hosts an alumni dinner in Watertown, Mass. At the event, five alumni are inducted into the Hall of Fame. Placement is reserved for alumni who lead successful and notable lives. The alumni organization Friends of CRLS notes, “Alumni are an important part of the school’s support network.”

Flynn’s dedication to his community is substantial. In fact, the CRLS alumni dinner and Hall of Fame induction is an event he attends every year. His sense of civic responsibility has always been strong. Flynn has been a leader in countless local political campaigns over the years.

On top of his significant community involvement, Flynn has held many official titles. Before he was national representative at NAGE, Flynn worked to build a strong union as IBEW Local 2222 chief steward at Verizon for 40 years. He has been on the Board of Directors at Liberty Bay Credit Union (LBCU) for 22 years, and was an LBCU Chairman for 10 years prior.

Flynn embodies NAGE’s ideals and we congratulate him on this award, a well-deserved recognition of his tireless dedication to his community.
