NAGE National President, David J. Holway Attends DC Regional Training

A few dozen members from federal and municipal NAGE and IBPO locals got something extra in their two day-long training session—a visit from NAGE National President David J. Holway.

The members were meeting at facilities at the Office of Unified Communications and home to Local R3-07 in Washington, D.C. for a regional training on November 5th and 6th, 2014. President Holway was in the nation’s capital on November 6, 2014, for an appointment at the White House and joined them for the afternoon. He’s pictured here with local officials from NAGE R3-086 who are dual status technicians and members of the Army National Guard in Washington, D.C.

NAGE Federal Director Sarah Suszczyk, National Representative Lee Blackmon, Assistant General Counsel Garrick Farria and Assistant General Counsel Robert Shore led the training on subjects such as the roles and responsibilities of local union officials, handling grievances, arbitration, and the duty of fair representation. Bill McFadden, mediator with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services (FMCS), also participated in the training.
