NAGE Endorses Healey for Governor

The National Association of Government Employees (NAGE) has unanimously voted to endorse Attorney General Maura Healey in her campaign for Governor of Massachusetts.

Bolstered by an overwhelmingly positive survey of NAGE’s Massachusetts members, NAGE is proud to support Attorney General Healey’s run for Governor. AG Healey has proven herself to be a friend of labor, a policy-maker who acts in the best interests of the working people, time and time again. “AG Healey has supported NAGE when negotiating for key benefits such as paid parental leave, remote work and health & safety measures throughout the pandemic,” said NAGE National Executive Vice President Theresa McGoldrick. “She was one of the first employers to cover the PFML tax instead of shifting the burden on her employees.” NAGE has worked alongside AG Healey  on implementing numerous health and safety measures.

“As a labor union, we are always looking to endorse candidates whose actions support our members. As Attorney General, Maura Healey has never waivered in her commitment to working people, and we are confident that this will continue in her work as Governor. We are proud to endorse her as the next Governor,” stated NAGE National President David J. Holway.

Just as NAGE continues to appreciate the work that AG Healey does for the Commonwealth, she in turn appreciates the hard work and dedication of our members, “NAGE members provide critical services that keep our communities running. They are vital government employees, caring for and protecting our children, our seniors, and the most vulnerable citizens. They’ve been an important partner for me as the People’s Lawyer, and I look forward to continuing our partnership as Governor. I’m honored to have their support.”
