Meet Your State Representative: Michael Finn

NAGE court officers would like to congratulate one of their own, Michael Finn, (D-West Springfield) who was recently reelected as State Representative of the Sixth Hampden District.
Over the next two years, Finn will work on spreading the economic recovery taking place in Boston to the western part of the state. Finn knows there is a great deal of work to be done, but is confident they are heading in the right direction.
In his early years, Finn served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. He accepted a position at the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department as a corrections officer in 1993. Soon after, he left to accept a position with the Massachusetts Trial Court as a court officer. He spent fifteen years with the trial court before his election to the legislature. Finn credits those positions with developing his compassion for others and learning how to treat people with respect when they are at their worst.
Congratulations from NAGE! There is nothing better than to see one of our own doing such fine work and making strides to better his community.

We can either have democracy in this country or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few; but we can't have both. - Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis
