Local 510 Names New Political Director

NAGE EMS Local 510, which represents the EMS professionals of Paramedic Plus in the San Francisco Bay Area's Alameda County, is proud to announce that Sarah Miley recently accepted a position as the local’s political director.

Miley, who works as an EMT at Paramedics Plus, has served her local as a shop steward for several years. She is excited to move into the political arena, stating, “There's a lot of EMS-related legislation that needs to be tackled and Local 510, being the premier EMS union in northern California, is the right union to lead those efforts."

The local’s newly appointed political director earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of San Francisco, with a minor in ethnic studies.

Prior to her career in EMS, Miley had seven years of professional experience working with non-profit organizations.  Her diverse professional background includes work in mental health care with foster children, recreational development for Alzheimer’s patients, community organizing with seniors, and job development for both youth and adults re-entering the workforce after incarceration. In addition, she also served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps.

NAGE EMS congratulates Political Director Miley on her new role!
