Local 458 Members Receive Commendation for Heroic Actions

Local 458 members Katharine Ross, Andrew Mangan and Wayne Blais received a commendation from Jeffrey Morrow, director of security for the MA Trial Court, on Friday, September 29th

Ross, Mangan and Blais’ swift actions saved the life of a woman who overdosed on opioids outside of the Lowell District Court on August 8th.  Katharine Ross was positioned in the entrance of the Lowell District Court when she noticed a woman in distress outside the courthouse doors.  Ross called two fellow Court Officers to grab medical gear and the trio administered two doses of Narcan.  Ross, Mangan and Blais kept the woman breathing until EMS arrived on scene.
