Kickball for a Cause

ROSELLE, NJ – Sunday, October 23, 2016, IAEP Local 87 hosted a kickball game that brought together several local groups, as well as local leaders, for an afternoon of competition for a great cause.  The kickball game hosted teams representing Trinitas Hospital Emergency Department, EMT’s of Elizabeth Fire Department (EMS Division), and many civic leaders from the area.

The game began as a friendly competition to foster camaraderie, but quickly turned into something more.   Trinitas ALS (Paramedic) Coordinator Brant Maslowski had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in June 2016, and all were eager to give back to him.  The game transformed into a fundraiser to benefit Brant, “a true leader and friend…who often put aside his own needs to provide exceptional service to the people who fall under his care,” writes Matthew Blaskewicz, Elizabeth EMT.

The event raised more than $4,700 for Brant, and that number continues to increase with last minute donations.  This was the first time that Elizabeth EMS, Trinitas Emergency Department and Trinitas EMS & Paramedics have all come together for an event.

Congratulations on an incredibly successful event and display of unity.  Please join us in sending well wishes to Brant Maslowski.
