Friday's EMS Week Honoree: Local R12-209 of Tracy California!

Since the COVID-19 outbreak began, states with large and dense populations knew trouble was on the way. Even in the smaller communities like Tracy, the waves were on the horizon. But R12-209 was ready. Standing tall in the face of this overwhelming global crisis has been no small challenge for the largest of shops and as a group of only twenty, these men and women have gone toe to toe with the big dogs. Sending members across the country to fight in New York City, maintaining strong response times in their area and being a source of positivity for the surrounding EMS community. Today we honor them for these deeds and their continued commitment to the EMS profession.

Thank you R12-209!

A Message From National Representative of Local R12-209, Shelly Hudelson:

        Happy EMS Week everyone!

To the members of Local 209, I may call you my small yet mighty local, but you are the epitome of the word UNITED. You operate next to a huge local of EMS members but your commitment to unity has never waivered, staying strong and independent. You work tirelessly with management to remain a becon of professionalism for the citizens of Tracy, Ca. You put your members first just like our motto says and all the while holding them to the utmost standard of excellence in EMS.

During this unprecedented modern pandemic, not only have you continued responding to regular calls but you worked with management to send your co-workers to help the hardest hit areas like New York City proving yet again how mighty a little local can be. In a time where many shops are furloughing part-timers, you found a way to get hours for them. For a local of 20 members the teamwork displayed each day by your solidarity is enormously powerful. I am honored to work with you all and look forward to fighting by your side for years to come! Stay safe and stay strong!
