FY22 GIC Health Insurance Premiums

Open enrollment is still open until May 5th!

The Group Insurance Commission (GIC) has recently voted to approve the FY22 Health Insurance Premium rates that are provided below.

Bobbi Kaplan, Vice-Chair of the GIC and Executive Vice President of Local 207, has strongly advocated against the rise in premiums and has voted against the increase. Kaplan argued the unfairness of raising premiums more than two times what our members receive in annual salary increases, but she was unsuccessful in changing the minds of the others on the GIC.

Kaplan, and our other GIC labor representatives, have been fighting any changes at the GIC that will be detrimental to the working people of the Commonwealth. NAGE would like to thank them for their zealous and unyielding advocacy on behalf of our members.

NAGE is also at the forefront of advocating for the GIC reform package. This package of bills will bring much needed reform to the GIC, details of the legislation can be found HERE.  We will keep you updated our advocacy for the package moves forward.

Please review the materials below, which go into effect July 1, 2021. If you wish to change carriers, that must be done during open enrollment April 7th - May 5th.
