Drivers, Start your Engines!

IAEP member Dave Aiken of Volusia County EMS was selected to serve as a Grand Marshal for the Coke Zero 400 at the Daytona International Speedway on July 2.

EMT Dave Aiken of Volusia County EMS has been selected to serve as a Grand Marshal for tonight's Coke Zero 400 at the Daytona International Speedway.  NASCAR and the Daytona International Speedway will honor first responders across the nation in the pre-race ceremonies, and Dave will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to shout the most famous words in motorsports, "Drivers, Start Your Engines!"  Congratulations to Dave for being selected for this honor and thank you for your 34 years of service to the citizens and visitors of Volusia County.

IAEP National Director Phil Petit was thrilled to see the community recognition, stating, “EMS professionals like Mr. Aiken, who has dedicated 34 years of service to his community, deserve recognition for their hard work and bravery.”

Congratulations, Mr. Aiken, and thank you for working to keep Volusia County safe!
