Congratulations President Golder on 20 Years of Federal Service

NAGE/IBPO congratulates President Nicole Golder SEIU/NAGE Local R7-551, on 20 years of service in the federal government. Born and raised in Indianapolis, President Golder began her career at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, as a Health Technician. For the past ten years she has worked as an Information Technology Specialist for the Office of Information and Technology. President Golder received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, where she studied Business Information Systems. Ms. Golder was elected President of the Local in 2010, she previously served in the roles of Vice President and Secretary.

President Golder called her 20 year anniversary a “truly life-changing moment in my career. She reflected on her time at the VAMC stating that “I have been through so much while working at the VA and I finally feel like I have overcome the obstacles that were meant to keep me from my destiny of serving the people.” When asked about the union’s role at the medical center as serving those who serve our nation’s veterans, President Golder stated that, “The union is a place where people should be able to find some kind of refuge from the negative elements of the workplace. The union should be a place where people can come to receive hope and encouragement, information, resources, and tools to becoming a better and more effective ‘them’”.
In addition to being a local union leader, President Golder has served as a NAGE National Executive Board member and as a National Vice President in 2015.   “I would like to congratulate Nicole on reaching this milestone in her career,” said NAGE National President David J. Holway. “Thank you for your service and dedication to our veterans and the members of our local. Your hard work does not go unnoticed,” he said.

In President Golder’s spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, in her church and neighborhood. In particular, her 13 year old son, Ethan.
