Celebrating Black History Month

NAGE is proud to celebrate Black History Month, an annual celebration of the accolades, achievements, and successes of Black/African Americans. It also provides us a time to honor and recognize the central and significant role African Americans have and continue to play in U.S. history!

The following is a message from our Governor and Lt. Governor:

To our partners in public service:

First and foremost, thank you for all you do for Massachusetts. It’s our great honor to serve alongside each and every one of you.

Our Commonwealth’s greatest strength is our people, and public servants like you are the reason we’re able to deliver essential services to our residents. Massachusetts has the hardest workers and brightest innovators in the world, and it’s our charge to provide resources that give every family and business the chance to thrive.

February is Black History Month, and earlier this month we reflected on the legacy of Coretta Scott King and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and their Massachusetts story. They met in Boston and fell in love, returning years later to call on the city to live by its highest ideals. They loved this Commonwealth and wanted the best for its people. That same love for community drives our work, as we’re sure it does yours.

We will face challenges ahead, but we have tremendous faith in this team. We see the hard work you put in day in and day out and we're looking forward to all the conversations we’ll have about how we can best support your efforts.

We’re proud to be not just your Governor and Lt. Governor, but also your colleagues. Working together, we will do great things.

Sincerely,

Maura and Kim
