Boston Globe reaches out to NAGE for response to Early Retirement Plan

On March 2, 2015, the Boston Globe reached out to NAGE for a response to the early retirement legislation announced by Governor Baker over the weekend. Please see the Globe article State to offer early retirement deals; layoffs may follow HERE.

NAGE National President David J. Holway stated in response to the Governor’s early retirement plan, “If the governor believes that the only way to meet the budget shortfall is to cut the workforce, this is a very humane way of doing it and I applaud him for it.”  (See article the Globe article titled State officials wary about early retirementHERE

We continue to follow this closely and will update members with any new information regarding the early retirement legislation. Please check NAGE.org for updates.
