ACTION ALERT: Contact Your State Rep for Group 4 Retirement

On Wednesday March 16, 2016, the NAGE legislative team of Ray McGrath and Jim Redmond were able to get several bills out of the legislative committees. Of particular interest is H. 2285, a bill that would move NAGE Trial Court employees to Group 4. This bill would give Trial Court members retirement parity with police officers, firefighters, corrections officers and other public safety workers.

NAGE has spent years lobbying for this language because we believe that our members work dangerous jobs and your retirement benefits should accommodate your needs. We are encouraging all our members to call your state representatives and senators to ask them to support this bill. Currently, Trial Court employees are the ONLY public safety officials in direct contact with people in custody, from arrest through incarceration through release and parole, who are not Group 4 members. Let’s level the playing field and give our members the retirement they deserve!
