NAGE Attends Annual Veterans Affairs Labor-Management Meeting

On October 24-25, NAGE National leaders along with local union officials from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) attended the NAGE Labor-Management Meeting. This annual meeting was held at the VA Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Local officials met with VA Secretary, Dr. David Shulkin and other VA Central Office (VACO) officials to discuss issues and topics that are important to our NAGE VA members. These issues included topics such as: HR Smart, the new Modernization Plan, VA accountability law, Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP), and continuation of professional boards for registered nurses.

VACO officials also gave multiple presentations on: employee engagement, safety (including opioid abuse), VA police, information and technology, resolution management (to discuss EEO and mediation processes), human resources, and labor management relations.

NAGE would like to thank all of the VA presidents and local officials who attended the successful meeting.
