Federal Postal Coalition meets with Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth

Last week, NAGE's Legislative Director Meghan Walsh along with several members of the Federal Postal Coalition met with Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (Illinois-8) in her Washington, DC office. During the meeting the group congratulated the Congresswoman on her recent appointment to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and discussed the priorities for the committee and labor in the 113th Congress.

The federal employee groups emphasized the important role federal employee's play in delivering important services to the American people and asked the Congresswoman to utilize her position on the Committee to protect the federal workforce's pay and benefits and be an advocate for this group of hard working civil servants. The postal groups spoke about the importance of preserving six day delivery for the United States Postal Service and reforms that can help put the USPS on sound financial footing.

The Coalition looks forward to building a strong relationship with Congresswoman Duckworth and working with her and her staff on these important issues.
