Attention DOD Workers: Let's Take Action on June 7, 2013!

The time has come for the civilian employees of the Department of Defense to actively take charge in securing our wellbeing. The Secretary of Defense has excepted certain employees across the agency from the furloughs brought on by sequestration cuts. These categorical exceptions undermine the fact that ALL EMPLOYEES play an important role in maintaining and supporting the readiness of our military. We ALL devote our lives, our time, and our safety to ensure that the necessary infrastructure, weapons, and hardware are well kept in order to minimize adverse effects on our troops and the mission. Even when the Federal Government is closed and many federal employees are advised to stay home, employees of the Department of Defense relentlessly face adversity and display an unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of our nation.

It is our duty to TAKE ACTION on Friday, June 7, 2013 to actively display our discontent with our respective Congressional Representatives' inability to pass a budget that would repeal the unnecessary, feigned crisis that has cut 20 percent of our income for the remainder of the fiscal year. What sacrifices will you and your family be forced to make when you only receive 80 percent of your normal rate of pay? Your concerns are important and need to be heard.

Let's come together at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2013. We are calling on our brothers and sisters to rally outside of our respective Congressional Representatives' offices to demonstrate our frustration with their constant ineptitude and inability to work together in Congress to address our needs and pass a budget so that sequestration can be rescinded. Let's let them know that their inaction will be remembered on Election Day. For the most up to date information on sequestration, check out the NAGE SEQUESTRATION GUIDE.
